History was made yesterday at the Edson regional airport as EFC YEG was asked to execute a charter for Air North. This was the first time that a 737 has ever landed at the Edson airport and a lot of the nearby residence and local media showed up to see the arrival and departure of the aircraft. The charter was the offload of BMW sales staff from England and Belgium that were awarded a trip to tour the Canadian Rockies. Air North picked them up in YVR and were flown to Edson to begin their 7 day tour through Jasper and Banff in brand new BMW SUV’s.

Edson airport is primarily a forestry airport that accommodates small aircraft, helicopters and the odd water bomber like the Electra.

Representing EFC were Don Carmichael, Scott Gosling, Kody Rosentreter and myself. Air North were extremely pleased with our safety service and attention to detail to bring the aircraft in on a very tight taxiway. They have mentioned the possibility of doing more business with us in the near future. As well, it was a pleasure working with the maintenance ground crew for the Edson airport.
